Graham Niven always wanted to be a disc jockey! But clearly that wasn’t exciting enough so instead he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant. Auditing other company’s accounts didn’t hold his attention and so Graham went into “industry”, spending time at various companies in the retail and distribution sectors. He then spent 10 years at Hilti GB Ltd, holding Finance Director, Customer Services Director and Logistics Director roles during this time.

Graham then joined a company in the personal debt advice market at a time when as a result of the expansion in available credit, a significant number of people were struggling to maintain minimum monthly debt repayments. This was boom-time for this “new” industry and at a time before government regulation was too onerous!

Graham then joined a smaller start-up debt advice company, helped to raise the finance needed to expand to over 100 employees and then decided that if he was going to do it any time, this was the time to set up on his own. Having worked for the start-up company, he had been more closely exposed to actually giving debt advice himself and felt this was an area in which he could provide a more local, face to face service for those people who needed that personal attention.

Over the last 5 years in a very changing market, Graham has learned a significant amount about the business, what has worked and what hasn’t, the benefits and drawbacks of working for yourself and what it is that makes his service special.     

Graham loves his “job” and is passionate about giving the best advice possible in order to find the right solution for everyone’s individual situation. Talking about debt is difficult… but not talking about it is even worse.
