Mayor wants to break down 'barriers' to business women in Oldham
Glitz and Glamour to help poor kids
A Swinton entrepreneur is organising a glitz and glamour ball to raise cash for under privileged kids.
Laura Swetman, who runs the Swinton based women's networking group ALIQUANTUM, is organising the event in aid of the Manchester Kids charity.
The ball will take place at the Renaissance Hotel on October 5 and aims to raise over £10,000 for children across the region.
Laura said: "Seeing the work the charity does really hits home how lucky you are. I am Mancunian born and bred and grateful to be in a position to give something back to the city I call home."
Manchester Kids charity fundraiser Michelle Grogan says the event will have a phenomenal impact on the charity through the donations received and the exposure it creates.
She said: "We were thrilled when ALIQUANTUM announced that the Glitz and Glamour Ball will benefit Manchester Kids. It is a wonderful opportunity to work with a great business networking group whilst raising funds for underprivileged children in the Greater Manchester area. I look forward to helping them make a big success of the event."
The event, which has the backing of local radio station Key 103, promises to be a star-studded evening with local celebrities set to declare their support
