The Origin of ALIQUANTUM

ALIQUANTUM was started in 2004 by Laura Swetman as a dedicated networking group for business women in one specific discipline, principally to enable strategic alliances within the group and provide an opportunity to develop business opportunities.   The format of the meetings was significantly different to the ALIQUANTUM we see today.  The individual success of all the women involved ultimately drew a natural conclusion to the group at the end of 2005, but the ethos was sound and a number of the members of the original group asked Laura to develop ALIQUANTUM into a networking group for women in business - and they continue to support and attend each meeting.

Having decided to take the development of ALIQUANTUM forward, Laura consulted a number of  women in the business world about what they wanted from a networking group for women in business.  What they said they wanted was:

  • A networking group for women that was beneficial for both new and experienced networkers.
  • A networking group for women that was focused on providing business opportunities, preferably through business referral.
  • A networking meeting that was structured but relaxed and informal.
  • Guest speakers who were women in business.
  • Networking that was social and made communication easy.
  • Special networking events that were geared to addressing the needs of women in business.
  • Variety and fun.

So that's what we have! Why not come to a meeting and see for yourself?

Oh, and in case you were wondering .....

ALIQUANTUM is of Latin origin and translates as 'a good deal'.
