Outlook Hints and Tips in May 2009

Debbie Phipps from Archway Computer Training Ltd has kindly shared this month’s Tip

AutoText

Fed up of typing the same phrases into Microsoft Word such as your name, address or even a block of text with images and formatting?
Frequently being asked for your address to be e-mailed to people?

Would benefit from having a quicker way of doing this?
If the answer is 'yes' or ‘what’ or ‘how’ then why not follow the instructions below which is our Top Tip of the month.
Create An AutoText Entry
Enter text, graphics, tables etc to be entered as AutoText and select it.
·         Press Alt and F3 or click on Insert – AutoText – New…
·         Keep the text displayed in the AutoText entry box or abbreviate it as necessary remembering that AutoComplete will only appear for an entry of four or more characters.
·         Click on OK

The phrase has now been added and will be suggested next time Word recognises that it is being typed.

Use An AutoText Entry

Start to type the AutoText.
As soon as the first 4 letters have been entered a screen tip (AutoComplete) will appear.

Press Enter to accept or keep typing to ignore.
NB If your AutoText entry is less than 3 letters then you can type the letters and press the F3 key to insert the AutoText.
